1) u + 3v = (-7,6) + 3(-4,17) = (-7,6) + (-12, 51) = (-19, 45)

2) (-19,45) + (a,b) = (1,0) =>

-19 + a = 1 => a = 1 + 19 = 20, and
45 + b = 0 => b = - 45

Solution: (a,b) = (20, - 45)

Answer: <20, -45>
