According to the given diagram,

Coordinates of A(5,2),B(12,-5) and D(2,-1)

d(AB)=
√(\left ( x2-x1 \right )^2+\left ( y2-y1 \right )^2)

d(AB)=
√(\left ( 12-5 \right )^2+\left ( -5-2 \right )^2)

d(AB)=
√(\left (7 \right )^2+\left (-7\right )^2)

d(AB) = 9.899 = 9.9 units

d(AD)=
√(\left ( 2-5 \right )^2+\left ( -1-2 \right )^2)

d(AD)=
√(\left ( -3\right )^2+\left ( -3 \right )^2)

d(AD) = 4.24 units

Area of rectangle (ABCD) = (AB)(AD)

Area of rectangle (ABCD)=(9.9)(4.24) = 41.976 sq.units
