4x + 3y = 12
2x + 3y = -6
------------------subtract
2x = 18
x = 9

4x + 3y = 12
4(9) + 3y = 12
36 + 3y = 12
3y = -24
y = -8

x = 9 and y = - 8

answers:

the y-coordinate of the solution is -8
the ordered pair that is the solution of the system lies in Quadrant IV
