no Jeff is wrong, -2 has a higher value than -3.

no: if a negative digit increases in number then it decreases in value.
-1>-5
Also, to make it simple, just look at which is closer to 1.
use your number line.
-5 -4 -3 -2 -1 0 1 2 3 4
