Wind energy is plentiful in regions with vast, open spaces. It is a non-polluting, renewable resource. What could be an economic factor that makes the use of this resource less feasible than non-renewable resources, even in such regions?

A) Wind farms cannot be used to generate electricity.
B) Wind farms cannot operate at night due to the lack of winds.
C) Wind farms run on electricity, which is an expensive commodity.
D) Wind farms occupy a lot of land, which is an expensive commodity.

The correct answer is - D) Wind farms occupy a lot of land, which is an expensive commodity.

Wind farms are a very useful way for producing electricity and also not cause any harm to the environment. The problem is that the wind farms produce relatively small amount of electricity, and this electricity is only useful for the households, but not for the bigger consumers. For a bigger requirement of energy the space needed for the wind farms will be enormous, which will cause another problem, making the agricultural land wind farms, in that way we will get reduced food supply which will cause much bigger problem. So even though this a renewable green energy unfortunately it occupies too much space and is unpractical for wider use.
