well, how many times does 1/8 go into 5 and 3/4? so, is just the quotient, so let's first convert the mixed fraction to "improper" and do the division,

\bf \stackrel{mixed}{5(3)/(4)}\implies \cfrac{5\cdot 4+3}{4}\implies \stackrel{improper}{\cfrac{23}{4}}\\\\ -------------------------------\\\\ \cfrac{\quad (23)/(4)\quad }{(1)/(8)}\implies \cfrac{23}{4}\cdot \cfrac{8}{1}\implies \cfrac{23}{1}\cdot \cfrac{2}{1}\implies 46

we need to divide 5 3/4 by 1/8, so fist convert the mixed number to an improper fraction: 23/4. Then divide this by 1/8 by multiplying by the reciprocal (8). So we have 184/4, which simplified to 46, so you can make 46 tacos.
