1. A. a group of influential people

Under a system of trial by jury, both the defendants and the accuser are required to present their case in front of a group of influential people known as the Juries. After hearing each presentation, the juries would give their vote to determine whether the defendant is guilty or not.

2. B. innocent until proven guilty

This legal principle require the law establishments and medias to not treat a defendant as if he/she is guilty before the court deliver its verdict.

The court need to prove that the defendant is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt before it can give punishments for the defendants and let the media tarnish their name.

3. A. equality under the law

This legal principle was directly adopted not long after Abraham Lincoln emancipated the slaves and initiate reconstruction on southern states. He wanted that all racial minorities in united states to be treated as any other citizens.

4. C. rule of law

According to this principle, when deciding whether a defendant is guilty or not, the court should follow on rules that written under the law rather than use their emotion. Regardless of their personal opinion, a judge should always treat every case as instructed in the written law.
