Most workers in nanotechnology are actively monitored for excess static charge buildup. the human body acts like an insulator as one walks across a carpet, collecting –50 nc per step. what charge buildup will a worker in a manufacturing plant accumulate if she walks 35 steps?

Given that human body collects -50 nc per each step taken. For a worker in a manufacturing company who walks 35 steps, the charge build up, which the worker will accumulate equals -50 nc * 35 steps = - 1750 nc.
Thus, the worker will accumulate - 1750 nc charges as a result of taking 35 steps.
Excess static build up has to be monitored in nanotechnology companies because charges can build up on people to the extent that they gives uncomfortable shocks.
