Hey!

First, we'll have to distribute -3 into ( x + 5 ).

Old Equation :

4x - 3 ( x + 5 )

New Equation {Old Equation Distributed} :

4x - 3x - 15

Now, we'll add similar elements, those being the numbers that contain the variables.

Old Equation :

4x - 3x - 15

New Equation {Added Similar Elements} :

x - 15

So, this means that the expression 4x - 3 ( x + 5 ) is x - 15.

Hope this helps!
