Langston Hughes was a poet, novelist, and playwright. He was an early innovator of jazz poetry. Arguably, his most famous poem "Harlem II" asks the all too important question, "What happens to a dream deferred?"
Favorite line: "Or does it explode?"
Fun fact: Nike's logo "Just Do It," was inspired by "Harlem II."
