Answer:

y=0.50x+15

Explanation:

Total cost = 0.50x+15

If y =total cost of renting the car, then y=0.50x+15

cost for 1st car = 15 + 0.50x

cost for second car = 25 +0.25x

For same cost

15 +0.50x = 25 +0.25x

0.25x = 10

x = 40 miles

or
y = .50(x) + 15
btw the parenthesis are not needed
