Asoka is famous for his change from Asoka's Hell, a ruthless ruler to the Constantine of India for Buddhism. During his change Buddhist principles encouraged Asoka to lead by example. It was also during his peaceful rule that he developed A vast bureaucracy managed many government affairs. As he often would go pilgrimage due to his new found religion, he created council for running the kingdom, the dharma mahamatras, which taught morality.
