Using context clues, I determined that Bradford meant “forged or false” when using the word “feigned”, which is also how I’d define it. The context clue that brought me to this answer was “true”. This was being said as the opposite of “feigned” so I assumed that “feigned” would have to mean the opposite of “true”.
