96 square feet because, to find the area on one side is to multiply 4 by the 4 sides on a regular square. Then, multiply the answer you got with the 6 sides of a cube. Answer should be 96 square feet

Answer: 96 square feet

Step-by-step explanation: Surface area is the sum of the areas of all of the faces of a three dimensional figure. If we wanted to find the surface area of the cube, notice that each face of a cube has the same area. We can simply find the area of 1 face of a cube and multiply it by the number of faces. To find the area of 1 face of a cube, we can use the formula for the area of a square.

Area =
s^(2)

Since the length of the side is 4 ft. we have as followed.

(4 ft.)²

16 ft.²

Now, since there are six sides to a cube we have to multiply by 6.

6 (16ft.²)

96 ft.²
