With elimination method you would have to flip the signs ion one equation
So itd be

-2x+y=1
5x-y=5
So then the ys would cancel out then just add like terms

5+x(-2x)= 3x
5+1=6

3x=6

Divide the 3 on both sides

x=2

Then to get y plug in x to one of the original equations

-2(2)+y=1
-4+y=1

Then add four to both sides to cancel it out on the left and y can be left alone

Y=5

And the final answer would just be (2,5)
