Answer: The width of the rectangle=6 inches

Explanation:

Let the width of the rectangle be x

then the length of the rectangle will be 3x.

As per the given question

Area of the rectangle= length Ă— breadth

=
3x*\ x=
3x^2=108 sq in.

Dividing both sides by 3 , we get

\Rightarrow\ x^2=36\\\Rightarrow\ x=+6,-6

length can not be negative ,therefore x=6 in.

Thus, width of the rectangle=x=6 inches

length of rectangle =3x=18 inches.
