Hi! So there are a couple of ways to solve it, but my personal favorite is substitution. Basically, take the top equation and subtract X from both sides and you'll have y = -9 - x. Then substitute your answer for Y into the bottom equation. Then that will be X + 2(-9 -X) = -25. Then multiply everything out and add 18 to -25. Then the equation will be -X = -7. Divide both sides by -1 and you get X = 7. Hope this helps!
