The correlation between scores on a test of tranquility and age at death is +.60. what could we conclude from this correlation coefficient? people with high tranquility scores live longer. dying at a later age is related to low tranquility scores. people who have high tranquility scores tend to die younger. people with low tranquility scores die 60 percent sooner than those with high tranquility scores.

The correct answer is the first, "people with high tranquility scores live longer". Since the correlation coefficient is positive, that means that when one factor (in this case tranquility score) is seen to increase, the other (in this case age at death) is seen to increase as well. The other potential answers are incorrect because they attribute causality, an inverse relationship, and/or a magnitude of the impact, which are not appropriate interpretations of a positive correlation coefficient.

Answer is: people with high tranquility scores live longer.
Tranquillity is the quality or state of being tranquil (calm, serene and worry-free).
Correlation coefficient is measured on a scale that varies from +1 through -1 (in this case correlation is positive +0,6, that means tha tranquillity and age of death are in correlation).
