I would definitely go with letter choice C. A doesn't make sense because the transitive verb depends on a direct object in order to exist, not the subject of the sentence. B can't be it, because the transitive verb is an action verb linked to the Direct Object, without the DO it is just an action verb. D doesn't even mention the purpose of the transitive verb. So C would definitely be correct. Hope that Helps.
