Hey there!
We're going to be adding these two equations. We don't have to make any alterations to cancel out any variables, as we already have +y and -y.
When we add, we get:
3x (y's cancel) = 3
We get three because 6 + -3 is the same as 6 - 3.
Divide both sides by 2:
x = 1
Now, we can plug x back in to get y:
2(1) - y = 6
2 - y = 6
-y = 4
y = -4
Therefore your answer is (1, -4)
Hope this helps!
