the length of roberts rectangular deck is 4 feet less than twice the width, w. robert plans to increase all sides of the deck by 6 feet. write the equation for the area of he larger deck

The width is w.

The length is 2w-4

By increasing all sides of the deck by 6 feet, the new measurements are

w+6
and
2w+2

The area is (w+6)(2w+2)=

2w^2+14w+12 feet squared
