Brian, Steve, and Rita invested a total of $24,000 in a business. Each person invested the same amount. Unfortunately, in the first quarter they suffered a loss of $4,500, which they shared equally. By what amount has each individual investment changed due to the loss?

well 24000 divided by 3 is 8000 so that is how much they each put in, then they lost a total of 4500 which divided is 1500 so each they went down to 6500 invested.

Answer:

$1500.

Explanation:

We have been given that Brian, Steve, and Rita invested a total of $24,000 in a business. Unfortunately, in the first quarter they suffered a loss of $4,500,which they shared equally.

To solve our given problem, we will divide total loss by 3 as there are 3 persons in all.

\text{Each individual's investment changed due to the loss}=(\$4500)/(3)

\text{Each individual's investment changed due to the loss}=\$1500

Therefore, each individual's investment changed due to the loss by $1500.
