Please Help Me!!!

Which pair of lines represents lines that are parallel and perpendicular, in that order, to the line represented by the equation = -3/4 + 4 ?


A. y = 3/4x + 3 and y = -3/4x + 5
B. y = 3/4x + 6 and y = -4/3x + 2
C. y = -3/4x + 5 and y = 3/4x + 4
D. y = -3/4x + 8 and y = 4/3x + 1

To be parallel, the slopes must be the same. To be perpendicular, the slopes must be opposite reciprocals (flip the fraction and multiply be -1)..

The slope of y = -3x/4 + 4 is -3/4

So C and D are correct for the first half..

The opposite reciprocal of -3/4 is 4/3, so D is the correct answer.
