The common difference is -6.

Because,
14 - 6 = 8
8 - 6 = 2
2 - 6 = -4
-4 - 6 =-10

Answer: The common difference= -6

Explanation:

Here in the given sequence the first term=
a_1=14

The second term=
a_2=8

The third term=
a_3=2

The fourth term=
a_4=-4

The fifth term=
a_5=-10

The difference between the consecutive terms=
d=a_2-a_1=8-14=-6

d=a_3-a_2=2-8=-6

d=a_4-a_3=-4-6=-6

d=a_5-a_4=-10-(-4)=-6

hence the common difference= -6
