8 times 1.5 is 12. So now you gotta do that with all the ingredients. In that case it's asking you the amount of butter so it's 5 times 1.5 which gives 7.5. So Craig needs 7.5g of butter.

8 p.........250 ml milk.........1 egg..........140 g flour.....5g butter
12 p.............................................................................x g butter
8/12=5/x
x= 12*5/8=60/8 g= 7,5 g butter
