The are of the quilt is 22 feet long. Since area is length times width, you multiply 5 1/2 by 4 feet. The area of the quilt panels are 1/4 of a foot. The same concept can be used to find that out, too. I hope you like the

Answer:

Please see the picture below to see the draw of the quilt.

Explanation:

In the picture below, the orange and blue squares represents each panel that are half a foot by half a foot, so half a foot is:

half a foot=(1)/(2)foot

half a foot = 0.5 foot

Now to reach 4 feet wide you need to put as much panels of half a feet to complete 4, so you have:

4 feet = 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.5

So, you need to put 8 panels to reach the wide of 4 feet.

For the large you need to put as much panels of half a feet to complete 5 and half a feet, that is 5 + 0.5feet = 5.5feet

5 feet= 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.5

You need to put 11 panels to reach the large of the quilt.
