Ven is likely being treated for osteoporosis. Osteoporosis is the breakdown of bones that cause them to become brittle. If we break down the term "oste-o" and "porosis" we'll find that oste-o means bone and porosis means having pores. So if you can image a bone with large pores in them, it could definitely cause breaks. Calcium is great to help the structure of the bones and lifting weights will help keep the flexibility along with helping the bones be stronger.
