Let the numbers be m and n. Then m+n=52 and m-n=26. Find m and n.
Add the 2nd equation to the first. Then 2m =78, and m=39.
Then n = m-26 = 39-26 = 13.
Check: do 13 and 39 add up to 52? YES
Is 39 26 more than 13? YES
The two numbers are 13 and 39.
