Answer: Girls = 28, That is there are 12 more girls than boys

Explanation:

Boys : Girls

5 : 7

To find the population of boys;

5/12 × 48

note ( 12 is gotten by the addition of 5 and 7)

5/12 × 48 = 192/12 = 16

The population of boys are 16

To get the population of girls;

7/12 × 48 = 336/ 48 = 28

Number of girls = 28

28-16 = 12

Therefore there are 12 girls more than boys
