Jefferson shows the colonies are not acting on impulse by including a list of grievances against King George III.

This list of grievances were justifications (aka reason) why America was becoming independent from Great Britain. This list included a signficant amount of complaints that the Americans had against the King including:

A) His restriction on the colonists ability to trade with other countries.

B) His implementation of taxes without the consent of the colonists.

C) Shutting down Boston Harbor after the Boston Tea Party.

D) Forcing American colonists to house British soldiers at any given time.
