The Great Famine in Ukraine or Holodomor, occurred between 1932 to 1933 and killed an estimated 10 million people in Ukraine. The famine brought increased rate of diseases among the people. More importantly, it changed the demographics. Birth rate dropped, from 782,000 in1932 to only 471,000 in 1933. At the same time, deaths increased from 668,000 to 1,850,000.
