Subtract: 3x 2 -7x + 4 from 5x 2 - 3x + 8.

5x^2 -3x+8 - (3x^2 -7x+4)

To subtract the second polynomial we multiply negative sign inside the second parenthesis.

Change the sign of each term when we multiply negative inside second parenthesis.

5x^2 -3x+8 - 3x^2 +7x-4

Now combine like terms

2x^2 +4x +4
