All steps should be carpeted or covered with non slip surface and all stairways should be equipped with sturdy hand rails. In addition all walkways should be lit well enough to read and also in case of fire all bed room windows should be accessible. Cribs and baby beds should be well padded and equipped with sturdy handrails.

When it comes to home safety, all steps should be carpeted or alternatively covered with some form of a non slip surface. Stairways should also come with very sturdy hand rails. It is also important to note that in the case of walkways, there should be adequate lighting, which is generally thought to be enough light to read by.
