x-y=5
4+y=10

If:

x-y=5
4x+y=10

Then the first equation can be re-written as x-5= y, and this can be subbed into the 2nd equation, eliminating y:

4x + (x-5) = 10. Then 5x - 5 = 10, and 5x = 15. Thus, x = 3.

Subbing 3 for x in the first equation: 3 - y = 5, or -2 = y

Then the solution is (3, -2).

Please note: You typed "4+y=10." I believe you meant to type "4x+y=10," and have worked on this problem accordingly.
