A rectangular garden plot has a length of 48 feet and a width of 30 feet. A similar plot has a length of 40 feet and a width of x feet. What is the value of x?

a rectangle that's a total of 48 total

1.5ft wide which is times by 2 which would be 3 ft out of the picture, aka means we will have to subtract that from the total since he know 3ft is already to the widths so 48 - 3 will lead to 45, 45 split into two sides will give you the total of this size of length

divide 2 by 45 will equal 22.5
