You want to isolate w. To do this, add 99 to both sides, which will give you
7w = 517 + 99 = 616.
Then divide both sides by 7: 7w/7 = 616/7 = 88 (answer)

STEPS:
1) Add 99 to both sides (get rid of 99 on the left side);
7w = 517+99
7w = 616
2) Divide both sides by 7 (get rid of 7 on the left side):
w = 616/7
w= 88
So
w=88
is the answer.
