PPF stands for Public Provident Fund. It is a scheme part of the Central Government, for long-term small savings. PPF is framed under the PPF Act of 1968. This scheme was initiated to provide retirement security to self-employed individuals and workers in the unorganized sector.
If an economy moves from a point on a PPF line to a point to the right of that PPF, this mean that the following event might have occurred: a new technology must have been discovered. The new technology can be part of the production process for example, better more efficient production and manufacturing will lead to a shift right in the PPF.
