The arena has come to an agreement with the Sleaford Rockers to pay them according to this formula:

b = tp - (s + 2,000)/3
b is band payment
t is ticket sales
p is ticket price
s is security cost

How much will the Sleaford Rockers get paid if they sell 8,000 tickets at $12 each and the security cost is $4,000?

Here the formula given

b = (t)(p) - ((s+2000))/(3)

Where b = band payment , t = ticket sales, p = ticket price, s = security cost.

Here given number of tickets sold = 8000. So here t = 8000.

Price per ticket = $12. So p = $12.

Security cost is $4000. So s = $4000.

By plugging in the values in the formula we will get,

b = (8000)(12) - ((4000+2000))/(3)

b = (8000)(12) - (6000)/(3)

b = 96000 - (6000)/(3)

b = 96000 - 2000

b = 94000

So the required band payment is $94000.
