first, we find the mean (average) of ur numbers
(5 + 7 + 9 + 11 + 13) / 5 = 45/5 = 9

then subtract the mean from every data point...and square it
5 - 9 = -4.......-4^2 = 16
7 - 9 = -2.......-2^2 = 4
9 - 9 = 0.........0^2 = 0
11 - 9 = 2.......2^2 = 4
13 - 9 = 4......4^2 = 16

now we find the mean (average) of these numbers
(16 + 4 + 0 + 4 + 16) / 5 = 40/5 = 8

now to find the standard deviation, we take the square root of that..
sqrt 8 is ur standard deviation <====
