Blake estimated that 130% of 20 is “2.6.” Without doing any calculations, explain to Blake how you know he is wrong. Then after explaining why he is wrong, show the work to estimate correctly.

2.6 is way less than 20 and 130% of 20 has to be greater than 20. The correct answer is 26

100 % represents the actual amount. For e.g. 100 % of 10 is 10 .

So 100 % of 20 have to be 20.

And 130% is more then 100%, therefore the value of 130%, should be more then 2.6 .

So 130% of 20 is 2.6 is wrong .

And to find 130% of 20, we just multiply 130 and 20 and divide by 100 which gives 26 .
