You are responsible for purchasing uniforms fro the members of your softball team The uniform consists of a matching shirt and socks your budget is $300 you can't spend more than that the formula n(x+y) < 300 can be used to determine the cost of the uniforms where x is the price of each shirt y is the price of each pair of socks and n is the number of players there are 15 people who have tried out for the team and the coach plans on keeping them the shirts are $17 per shirt (after tax)

15(17+y) < 300 useing the formula determine the modt you could spend on each pair of socks

15(17+y) <300

15*17 = 255

255 + 15y < 300

15y < 300-255

15Y < 45

y = 45/15

y = 3

so most you can spend is $3 per pair of socks
