What is the length of the longest side of a triangle that has the vertices (2,6), (-4,6), and (-4,4)? Round to the nearest hundredth, if necessary.

A. 40 units
B. 3.16 units

It looks like the points are corners of a right triangle with the hypotenuse from (-4,4) to (2,6).  That is the longest side, of length L given by L = √[(-4 - 2)2 + (4 - 6)2] = √(36 + 4) = √40 = 2√10
