Answer:

D

Find the area of the smaller triangle first.

Area of smaller triangle = 1/2 x 5 x 12 = 30 cm²

The bigger triangle and rectangle make up a trapezium.

Find the length of trapezium.

28 - 5 = 23 cm

Area of trapezium is given as 1/2 x sum of parallel sides x height.

Area of trapezium = 1/2 x (23+14) x 12 = 222 cm²

Area of trapezoid = 30 + 222 = 252 cm²

Answer:

252m^(2)

Explanation:

The area of a trapezoid is
(a+b)/(2) *h

Where:

a and
b are the length of parallel sides

h is the height

So in this question:

a is 14

b is 28

h is 12

Plug in the values:

(14+28)/(2) * 12

(42)/(2) *12

21 * 12

252
m^(2)
