This is an inherent characteristic. These are the concepts of a person that are part of their being and are not part of any social structure. They simply exist because the person exists, and are unable to be changed without great effort. Age, skin color, biological sex: these characteristics are inherent to the person, unlike ascribed characteristics like relative wealth and class status.
