The Marine Corps find that the three elements of leadership include self, troops, and situation. These three elements are interrelated and always changing. They are also three of the five points the Marines stress a soldier must consider when assessing his or her strengths and weaknesses, along with leadership style and the ability to deal with senior and subordinate fellow soldiers.
