A sound wave in air has a frequency of 286 hz and travels with a speed of 343 m/s. how far apart are the wave crests (compressions)?

1.199 To find this answer we take the speed and divide it by the frequency. This would make sense as this would then give you the distance between each crest of the wave as it is traveling.
