40% of their goal. They want to raise 3000. How much more money do they need to raise to meet their goal? Pls pls answer this ;_;

First, you need to find what 40% of 3000 is.

If 3000 is 100%, so we can write it down as 3000=100%

We know, that x is 40% of the output value, so we can write it down as x=40%

3000/x=100%/40%

3000/x=100/40

(3000/x)*x=(100/40)*x
-
we multiply both sides of the equation by x

3000=2.5*x
-
we divide both sides of the equation by (2.5) to get x
3000/2.5=x

1200=x

x=1200 this is how much they have raised so far.

now subtract 3000 from 1200 = 1800.

They need to raise $1800 to reach their goal.
