Hospitals employ a group of people called transport personnel. When a doctor orders an X-ray for a patient, the nurse would contact the transport personnel department to arrange for someone to get the patient from their room and transport them to the X-ray department. When the X-rays are completed, the transport personnel will retrieve the patient and take them back to their room.
