Answer:

5/56

Explanation:

You have to multiply both numbers.

First, you have to multiply 5 & 1, that will be 5

Next, you have to multiply the denominators, which is 7 & 8, that will be 56

Finally, you put that as a fraction and get 5/56

That can not be further simplified.

Answer:

(5)/(56) salt does she need for her recipe.

Explanation:

As per the statement:

For her recipe:

She needs =
(5)/(7) of a cup of sugar.

It is also given that: 1/8 as much salt as sugar.

⇒ She needs salt for her recipe =
(1)/(8) \cdot (5)/(7) = (5)/(7 \cdot 8) = (5)/(56)

Therefore,
(5)/(56) salt does she need for her recipe.
