Need help on 26!!!!!!!

A) 26 + 18 = D

Where D = Dad's age.

B) No it isn't. You solve the above equation and it equals 44.

C) The first age comparison is 26 years apart, both going up by 8 each time, so by adding 8 to 36, it equals 44, which isn't 42.

Need help on 26!!!!!!!
